SWEET TIMES guests received complimentary wine as a kind gesture for the long wait time. Robbie likes to have good floors in her restaurants too. I love the flooring design and it is uniquely different. Therefore it is only right to have musical influences flowing throughout the building. For those that are unaware, Miss Robbie Montgomery has a musical background and sang with Ike and Tina Turner as an Ikette back in the day. Some of my favorite songs came on and I began to reminisce. Album and CD covers from various artists young and old (Houston rap icons Slim Thug & UGK too) are posted on the walls, while music from the 2000’s decade played nicely in the background. I began to really observe the decor and set up for this restaurant. Guests will sit down and order their food from a waiter, versus ordering through a cafeteria-style line which is the traditional method for the SWEETIE PIE’S brand. Johnnie also brought to my attention the non-cafe style approach for this Houston location as well. Louis allowed me to say hello and I asked him, “What is your definition of a soft opening?” Johnnie explained, “A trial and error method in the restaurant business to determine what works so that we can make some changes.” So I totally understand if some kinks need to be worked out and things don’t go smoothly as planned. Sure enough, Johnnie from the SWEETIE PIE’S in St. While waiting at the bar, I noticed a familiar face walking around and remembered this gentleman being a manager at a location in St. And guess what I discovered? SWEET TIMES provides free wifi for their guests! Insert happy dance.? A restaurant that offers free wifi is alright with me. Besides, this became a great opportunity for me to catch up on some blogging and go to the bathroom. Therefore the one hour wait time didn’t surprise me and pausing for the cause of good food is always necessary. Fortunately, there was a lot of seating available on the outside patio, near the bar, and front door entrance. If I am required to go through a lot to park at your establishment I won’t frequent your restaurant often.įans who watch the show also realize that due to the popularity of the restaurant, SWEETIE PIE’S is known for having lines wrapped around the building. For those that don’t know, parking is everything to me. To my surprise, I was able to drive in and find a nice parking spot. (I later learned that once the street sign and other important necessities arrive, the grand opening date will be set.) And if you look closely you will see a plethora of people sitting on a patio to give you the “This must be it!” unction. At this time a sign isn’t available to help you locate the building, however knowing the address helps. Besides, our cost of living compared to other cities is phenomenal, and Houston is home to some of the best world renowned restaurants and medical care facilities and doctors.įilled with anticipation I drove to 6356 Richmond to taste the soul food that I’ve been missing. This means a lot to a native Houstonian that desires to help the 4th largest city in the country be viewed as one of the best places to visit and travel. On Saturday, February 18, 2017, I visited the soft opening of SWEET TIMES owned by SWEETIE PIE’S here in Houston and I smiled at the thought that Tim Norman kept his promise. However Tim promised us that he would one day bring the SWEETIE PIE’s brand to Houston, Texas and the time has arrived. At that time, unfortunately things didn’t work out as planned and we were all devastated. When I viewed an episode several years ago of Co-Owner Tim Norman, son of the SWEETIE PIE’S Founder/Owner Robbie Montgomery, seeking out locations in Houston, Texas to expand the restaurant I was beyond excited. The docuseries follows the lives of the Founder/Owner Robbie Montgomery and her family as they thrive to build a soul food restaurant brand that will impact the world. Charles was working as the cashier and Bruce worked the kitchen and bussed tables as well. My BFF ordered the fried fish with sides. I ordered oxtails with rice, two sides, peach cobbler, and a drink. We arrived during the dinner schedule which means there is a price increase. Based on the principle of medical endoscopy, perioscopy is a minimally invasive approach that was introduced in the year 2000. Numerous in vivo and in vitro clinical studies have been performed to determine their efficacy of calculus removal.Ĭurrently, perioscopy is the only available method for detecting calculus (Perioscopy Inc., Oakland, CA, USA). To enhance treatment planning and efficacy, several systems for calculus detection and/or elimination have been developed, based on different technologies (Meissner and Kocher, 2011 Bhusari et al., 2013). Correct evaluation of a cleaned surface is a key to thorough debridement. The location and inflammatory status of the gingiva also impact the detection and subsequent removal of deep-seated calculus.Ĭlinicians are frequently uncertain about the nature of a subgingival root surface while performing periodontal instrumentation. The drawback of traditional tactile perception of the subgingival environment is that the clinician may lack visibility and accessibility before and after treatment, leading to residual calculus and/or the undesirable removal of cementum. This step is followed by tactile perception with a periodontal probe, explorer, or curette, until the root surface feels smooth and clean. These toxins are found on, but not within, the periodontally diseased root surfaces hence, the surfaces should be treated carefully without extensive removal of the underlying cementum (Nyman et al., 1986).Ĭurrent subgingival root debridement techniques involve the systematic treatment of all diseased root surfaces by hand, sonic, and/or ultrasonic instruments. Because of its porous nature, calculus can adsorb a range of toxic products and retain substantial levels of endotoxin that can damage the periodontal tissues. The rough calculus surface may not, in itself, induce inflammation in the adjacent periodontal tissues, but may serve as an ideal substrate for subgingival micro-bial colonization (Jepsen et al., 2011).Ĭause-related anti-infective therapy aims to eliminate the microbial biofilm and calcified deposits from diseased root surfaces through root surface debridement (Jepsen et al., 2011). Their accumulation and attachment are facilitated by a roughened root surface (Zander, 1953 Waerhaug, 1956 Mamoru et al., 2004). 13īacterial plaque and calculus are accepted etiological agents in the initiation and progression of periodontal disease (Ash et al., 1964). Delete the 'test' branch even if the 'master' branch (or whichever branch is currently checked out) does not have all commits from the test branch. The next fetch or pull will create them again unless you configure them not to. ![]() What if you want to keep the branch around so you can always go back and see when it was merged? We'll get to that at the end of this post. Delete the remote-tracking branches 'todo', 'html' and 'man'. You can create another branch, and even give it the same name, but don't recycle branches you've already associated with a pull request for use with any other work. You can use either xargs ( -n 1) or, as in your own code here, sh, to invoke git update-ref. Unfortunately bulk delete is still going to be slow: git update-ref -d only works on one at a time. If you wind up deleting a branch you didnt intend to, you can easily recover it with the info provided by Git during the delete. Reusing the patch-1 branch (after its original PR has been merged and closed) is a good way to cause problems in your git repository. Start with git for-each-ref rather than git show-ref that will get you the set of refs in a single command. At this point, the pull request is complete, and future commits should only be made on master, not patch-1. When a local branch is started off a remote-tracking branch, Git sets up the branch (specifically the branch..remote and branch..merge configuration entries) so that git pull will appropriately merge from the remote-tracking branch. After the merge (assuming a new merge commit is added), both master and patch-1 point to a new merge commit. Branches in Git are simply pointers (references) to the SHA-1 value of the head commit, which is why the condition uses References. Before the merge, master and patch-1 both point to separate commits in git's commit history. Consider a scenario in which a branch patch-1 is about to be merged with the master branch through a pull request. Back to the previous example, if you want to delete the remote Git tag named v1.0, you would run. To delete a remote Git tag, use the git push command with the delete option and specify the tag name. They don't add any significant technical overhead, but they make it more difficult for humans to work with lists of branches in the repository.Ä«ranches can be safely removed without risk of losing any changes. Second, delete the tag from the remote repository. In most cases, branches, especially branches that were related to a pull request that has since been accepted, serve no purpose. ![]() Why should you delete old branches from your git repositories? There are two main reasons: This is a safe operation in that Git prevents you from deleting the branch if it has. This is synonymous with git branch -list. Thatâs a script for another day. It's a common housekeeping practice to delete git branches once they're no longer used, but this practice isn't necessarily universal, or universally understood. List all of the branches in your repository. This does not clean up any local branches that were never pushed to the remote server. You should always run step 0 and step 3 to validate the branches you are going to be deleting before running step 4. They relish meat, and have been known to kill and eat monkeys, small antelope, and even tortoises, which they slam against trees to break open their shells. Though they generally prefer fruits and plants, they have a varied diet that also includes insects, eggs, nuts, and hundreds of other things. They usually sleep in trees-typically the sturdy Ugandan ironwood tree, which offers the most firm and stable place to sleep-and build themselves nests of leaves.Ĭhimps also do most of their eating in trees. Though many populations live in tropical rainforests, they can also be found in woodlands and grasslands spanning from central to western Africa. Habitat and dietĬhimpanzees have the widest range of any great ape. And chimpanzees can even be taught to use some basic human sign language. They use stones to smash open tasty nuts and employ leaves as sponges to soak up drinking water. Her groundbreaking discovery led archeologist Louis Leakey to declare, “Now we must redefine ‘tool,’ redefine ‘man,’ or accept chimpanzees as humans.”Īs Goodall observed, chimpanzees shape and use sticks to retrieve insects from their nests or dig grubs out of logs. This intelligent animal is one of the few species we know to use tools-which primatologist Jane Goodall famously observed in 1960. Chimpanzees have long arms, hands, and fingers, which help them climb trees and swing from branch to branch. Grooming is an important part of their social life, helping chimpanzees bond as they remove ticks and dirt from one another’s bodies.Īlthough they normally walk on all fours (knuckle-walking), chimpanzees can stand and walk upright. Research has shown that male and female chimps have individual personalities, with females being more trusting and timid. They live in communities of several dozen animals, led by an alpha male and his coalition of male allies. Humans and chimps are also thought to share a common ancestor who lived some seven to 13 million years ago. Along with bonobos, they are our closest living relatives, sharing 98.7 percent of our genetic blueprint.
